Wadea Tarhuni, MD (Hon.) Cardiologist

Dr. Wadea Tarhuni, a leading Canadian cardiologist, brings over 25 years of expertise to the field. His professional journey began with residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Toronto, shaping his foundational knowledge in healthcare.
Drawing upon specialized training in Stress Echocardiography and an expertise in managing cardiac arrhythmias, he established several cardiac centres delivering non-invasive diagnostic testing across Canada.
His innovative approaches to diagnosing and treating arrhythmias have earned him recognition as a Healthcare Pioneer by Arrhythmia Alliance.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tarhuni has served on the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Board of Directors for 15 years, contributing to key initiatives to enhance healthcare outcomes for Canadians. He also holds membership in several professional bodies, including the Canadian Association for Medical Education, the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and the Institute of Corporate Directors. His certification from the Canadian Certified Physician Executive Program demonstrates his ongoing dedication to driving change within Canada’s complex healthcare system.
Dr. Tarhuni remains actively involved in community programs that raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and promote prevention, including initiatives focused on women, Indigenous communities, and children.
